The children for the reception classes are
getting into the swing of things here at the Cotswold ForestSchool, thanks to help
from some wonderful parents (and staff!) The youngsters have attended four
sessions already and looking forward to more!

Cherry Tree class and Apple Tree class are
really enjoying their Forest Schools trips!
During that last few visits the children
have explored the woodland and have seen (and smelt!) the changes from Winter
to Spring. They discovered the bright
red ‘Scarlet Elf Cap’ fungi, that only appears in our woods for a few weeks
and that now has disappeared until next year.
We’ve looked at rabbit burrows and can now tell whether their in
residence from their droppings!
As each week progresses the youngsters appear
to grow more confident in their ability to learn and explore the
woodland, Learning to listen for the
tapping of ‘William’ the Woodpecker or the shrieked call from ‘pips’ the
Pheasant! Though there is no doubt
that its ‘Billy and Brenda’ the Buzzards that leave us all in awe, with them
gliding high above the crowns of the trees, magnificent against the bright
blue sky.
